Front doors are made to withstand frequent use, wear & tear and weather of all kinds for a long time, but even the highest quality of door will eventually need to be replaced. This was the situation faced by one of our clients in Poole recently. Their old UPVC door had lasted about 30 years but it was now outdated and in poor condition. As well as this, their old side window had a midrail with a glass upper section and a panelled lower section, limiting the amount of daylight that could get in, resulting in a gloomy hallway.
When they finally decided it was time for a replacement door, they knew the perfect company to turn to.
The customer contacted Richmond Home Improvement to discuss their needs and we were more than happy to help. They wanted a traditional style door in a bold, dark colour that was sturdy and secure. In addition, they also asked for the side window to be replaced with a bigger window that allowed much more daylight in.
Not a problem! We provided a new composite door in a gorgeous dark blue, matching the customer’s colour preference. The door features a secure hook and deadbolt multipoint locking system to ensure a high level of security. In addition to incorporating the required functionality, the door also looks fantastic with the customer’s choice of patterned glass, bright chrome handles with matching letter plate and a classic urn knocker with built-in spyhole viewer.
The door was made a little wider to allow easier access and has a 15mm aluminium low threshold. Typically designed for wheelchair access, in this instance the low threshold has removed a potential trip hazard. We also replaced the previous side window and panelling with full-length obscured, toughened safety glass, which allows the customer to retain privacy whilst significantly brightening their hallway.
